1. ‼️ Endangered Species: Orangutans face the harsh reality of being critically endangered. Their existence is threatened by habitat loss, poaching, and specially the palm oil industry, making conservation efforts crucial. Shockingly, only around 100,000 Bornean orangutans remain in the wild. Their population dwindles due to deforestation, leaving them vulnerable to extinction. Support and awareness are key to ensuring their survival.

2. 🌳 Sanctuary of Hope: all over the island there’s sanctuaries providing a haven for these majestic beings. Organizations like @sepilokorangutan , where this photos were taken, dedicate themselves to rescue, rehabilitate, and release orangutans back into the wild on the Malasyia rainforest

3. 🤗 Family Bonds: Orangutans are not only skilled climbers but also nurturing parents. Females invest years in raising their offspring, teaching them vital survival skills.
Beyond their impressive physical capabilities, orangutans exhibit remarkable emotional intelligence. They express joy, sadness, and curiosity, forming intricate social bonds that underscore their sentient nature.

4. 🧠 Clever Minds and Quirky Habits: They exhibit tool use, problem-solving skills, and even create cozy leaf umbrellas for rain protection. Their ingenuity showcases the depth of their cognitive abilities.

5. 🌿 **Forest Gardeners:** Orangutans play a crucial role as "gardeners" of the forest. Their diet includes various fruits, and by dispersing seeds through their travels, they contribute significantly to the forest's regeneration.

Costa Rica, 2019 🇨🇷

When I was 16 years old there wasn't social media as we know it today. Instead there was some platforms like Metroflog, MySpace and, if you were in Spain, Tuenti. A sort of Facebook for the young audience back then.

I remember how, in a moment where I did not know myself at all, my first artistic decision on those sites was to share landscapes I consider to be awesome. Every week I look into internet, specially National Geographic and pages alike to share places my mind did not even consider to be possible.

With every landscape that I posted, I wrote a tiny bit about it. I still remember the feeling of how impossible seemed to me to be on those locations. That instinct is definitely one of the reasons (if not the main one) why for all this years I had looked any chance to get outside, explore the world while I can and snap as many pictures as possible. It's the same idea that fuels me to do that at night, in the early morning, in freezing cold or whatever other circumstance just to get a unique moment.

I look back now and I realise how that post started the path I'm in. It was on Costa Rica, during the first trip that allowed myself to create without demands, not for a client, not for project... On this journey I took the first landscape photos that would make my younger self wonder with that feeling.

This amazing animals are the emblem of Australia. But, how much do you really know about them? Let's start with the basic: they are marsupials, a branch of mammals with a unique difference on the early-stage development of their offspring, which they complete within the marsupial pouch. Unlike placental mammals, where fetal development is more extensive before birth. So, while all kangaroos are mammals, not all mammals are marsupials.

🐾 Theropod Heritage: Kangaroos, in a surprising evolutionary connection, share lineage with dinosaurs, positioning them as modern-day theropods. Other theropods are Wallabies, Quokkas, Pademelon, Walaroos, Tree Kangaroos and Rock Wallabies.

🎒Marsupial Pouch: More than a mere anatomical refuge, the marsupial pouch of female kangaroos is a biological wonder. It acts as a protective sanctuary where the young are nurtured and sheltered, showcasing a remarkable adaptation for efficient nurturing.

👟 Economy of Hops: The distinctive locomotion of kangaroos, marked by expansive hops, is not just a visual spectacle but an example of energy efficiency. Jumping long distances is less demanding than continuous walking.

🍎 Dietary Eclecticism: Contrary to the common perception of exclusive herbivores, some kangaroo species exhibit a surprisingly varied diet, including flowers, fruits, and even fungi. This dietary versatility adds complexity to their ecological role in various habitats.

Belgium, 2021 🇧🇪

Architectural photography is one of the trickiest subjects. Capturing the intricate details, lines, shapes and textures of buildings is not an easy feat, requires a deep understanding of spacial principles and a keen eye for beauty and essence in a structure. 🏠📸

Composition and lighting play a crucial role but, in the end, it's all about the lines. The same way a pillar gives stability to a building, your composition gives direction and reading to your photo. To do so, wide-angle lenses are the most common tool to capture the wide views and the sense of scale so anything below 24mm would be ideal.

This 8 pictures are some of the most effective ways to make your architecture photography worth it:

1️⃣＆2️⃣ Depth 👓
Compose with elements at different distances to make it three-dimensional, and the use of different patterns to guide the viewers eye from one point to the frame to the main subject.

3️⃣＆4️⃣ Verticality 📈
On this particular field nothing is most important than your vertical lines. There's even tilt-shift lenses that help you correct perspective distortions and ensure accurate representation of the architecture. This gives a sense of stability and grandeur.

5️⃣ Patterns ＃
City architecture is all about repetition, in some way or another. And this is the perfect example of why a telephoto lens can be also the perfect gear to capture a city.

6️⃣ Details 🔎
Starting from what size is considered architecture? Exactly. There is no answer, so don't forget smaller ornaments are also structural. Another great reason to carry a longer focal length in your backpack

7️⃣ Think outside the box! 💭🤔
Most of this rules are really effective but sometimes you can apply it by taking a step back or looking down instead of up could make a more appealing story

Borneo, Malaysia 2023 🇲🇾🐘

Pygmy elephants are a majestic species only found in Borneo, currently facing numerous challenges threatening their existence. ⚠️

These extraordinary creatures are famous for their smaller size in comparison to other elephant species and relatively larger ears compared to the asian counterparts, longer tails, and straighter tusks. Despite their smaller stature, they are full-fledged elephants and exhibit the same intelligence and social structure as their larger relatives. 🧠💭

Deforestation and palm farm expansion have caused elephant habitats to be fragmented. This has led to conflicts between elephants and humans, as the elephants often enter villages and plantations in search of food. Our campground on the Kinabatangan river experienced two elephant incursions in recent months, resulting in significant damage to cabins and common areas.

Another peril that threatens pygmy elephants is poaching. The demand for elephant ivory and the illegal wildlife trade pose a grave risk to their population. It is imperative to implement stringent conservation efforts and anti-poaching measures to combat this issue and safeguard these endangered species.

Ongoing efforts are being made to preserve pygmy elephants and their habitats by working with local communities to establish protected areas and promote sustainable land use and tourism. I was able to get this series only thanks to the guides on my campsite, that work hard protecting the habitat and searching for the true wildlife in their area, like orangutans. Their dedication is incredible 💚

Educating the public and the tourist about the importance of these animals can encourage support for conservation initiatives and reduce conflicts between humans and wildlife

As a photographer, there’s key moments that one tends to always remember. Your first drone flight is one of those. 🚁

The inaugural drone flight it's a mixture of nerves, excitement and a pinch of fear. Who can forget the adrenaline rush, the whirring of the propellers, and that first ascent into the unknown? It's a moment that stays with you, a blend of technical prowess and a touch of courage.

At Butrón Castle, although not my initial flight, was the first time I did took a pause to use it as a proper camera. Working compositions and taking my time to explore this medieval marvel that whispers tales of the past from the ground. But from above? It transforms into an epic saga, an architectural dance frozen in time.

This little propelled friend is not just a gadget; it's a storyteller, revealing hidden narratives 🔎📝

New shapes, symmetry and asymmetry meets, and the whole idea of what you knew abut a castle transforms.

Mastering the art of drone flight isn't just about the technicalities; it's about infusing emotion into a story. A mood to a narration. It's about feeling the heartbeat of a place.
